Not telling is a lie!

I have been out for a bit, but here I am mad as ever. Let's jump right into the shit. Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans. If ever media was out to create propaganda, they are working on a masterpiece. Of course we know this is a President Bush's fault because he does not like black people. This is what the media is allowing to be said on their airbag's...... Ok ok I am ranting, let's start at the beginning.

August 27

"I just don't see any reason why this will not become a very, very powerful hurricane before it's all over," hurricane center director Max Mayfield said at a news conference. "Everybody from southeast Louisiana through the Florida Panhandle really needs to pay attention," he said.

August 29

Between 20,000 and 25,000 others who remained in the city lined up to take shelter in the Louisiana supporting, lining up for what authorities warned would be an unpleasant day and a half at minimum. (CNN)

August 30

The hurricane hits. Not just New Orleans but other cities such as Biloxi MS.

(rant time)
3 days warning I could of walked to Houston. These people that stayed in Orleans chose to stay. Now we are responsible for their well being? Bullshit, not my problem, the honest hard working people left that city days before the hurricane. The people who stayed either were too dumb to leave or wanted to stay and loot. We have been hand feeding these people through government entitlements for so long that they can not fend for themselves. Do you know how many times I heard "where is the government". I honestly don't think the Federal government should even been involved, it was a local problem, yet New Orleans can't seem to govern themselves therefore they need federal assistance just like their inhabitants.

(facts)
"NEW ORLEANS - Mayor Ray Nagin ordered 1,500 police officers to leave their search-and-rescue mission Wednesday night and return to the streets of the beleaguered city to stop looting that has turned increasingly hostile. " (MSNBC)

(rant)
Nothing like that in Biloxi...... Sounds like the Mayor is responsible for all the people that didn't get rescued.

(fact)
"And one of the things people -- nobody's talked about this. Drugs flowed in and out of New Orleans and the surrounding metropolitan area so freely it was scary to me, and that's why we were having the escalation in murders. People don't want to talk about this, but I'm going to talk about it. " Ray Nagin Mayor of NO

(rant)
So why have drugs moved so freely in his town? If the mayor has known about drug proliferation ("scary to me"), why hasn't he done anything to stop it? Sounds like the Mayor is responsible for all the murders and rapes as well.

The fact of all of this is that you should elect strong leaders who can motivate people to rely on themselves during trying times. Ray Nagin and Kathleen Blanco (gov) are weak officials elected by weak constituents who now expect us to help them.

On a tangent, let's do a study on the people who left the blighted area prior to the hurricane and the ones who remained. The parameter is how many days they were employed in their lifetime. I would bet a million dollars there is a direct correlation of greater than 95% of the number of days worked versus how many feet away from the Superdome a person ended up on August 30, 2005.
